Use roll on and brush your teeth before coming to set – Actor Frederick Leonard calls out on smelling colleagues

On social media, Frederick Leonard, a well-known Nollywood actor and filmmaker, expressed his frustration with movie crew members who have offensive body odor. He advised them to use deodorant to avoid smelling like “rotten goats” on set.

Victor Okpalan, another colleague of his, shared the same sentiment and urged the crew members to use deodorants or roll-ons. Additionally, Leonard suggested that filmmakers should use mint or gum to tackle mouth odor as well.

The issue of body odor on movie sets is not a new one. Many crew members work long hours in close proximity to each other, which can exacerbate the problem. Leonard and Okpalan’s comments have sparked a conversation online about personal hygiene in the film industry.

The actor wrote, “Any human being that has a functioning brain wether cast or crew, should used deodorants, and touch up again by 5.pm so you don’t begin to smell like goat. For a profession that requires that we are constantly on our feet for a minimum of 14 hours, common sense should apply. …And let’s not forget mint or gum to fight mouth odor.”
