The upper west region of Ghana have recorded its first case of coronavirus.
The patient is said to be a 42 years old man who returned from the UK after making a transit through Kenya.
Both countries have been battling with the coronavirus.
He regional minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salish disclosed that the man knew he was exposed to the virus and went into self-isolation until he was tested with the results been positive.
“The good thing is that, even before the test results came out positive, the suspect was in self-quarantine. He isolated himself because he had returned from countries where the disease is prevalent,” Dr. Salih noted.
He urged the people of the upper west region not to panic because they had everything under control because of how the man preserve himself in quarantine till he was tested.
“You should not panic; the fact that he is a patient does not mean he is going to die,” he stressed.
