Traveling to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, according to a guy known as Henry Bright, was the worst mistake of his life.
After spending Ghc23,751 on the trip, the 37-year-old father of two said he found up working as a laborer on a cucumber farm in Dubai.
According to him, he traveled to work hard and gain money in order to invest in his music career.
Henry stated that he sent over 1,500 CVs to hotels and businesses but received no response.
In his own words: “I sent my resume to hotels and businesses. I was exploring Dubai’s streets. I wandered on the street two months after receiving nothing.
My account had begun to run low at that moment.” He stated that he contacted an agency in Dubai seeking a job and that the agent subsequently transported him and another candidate to a cucumber field to work as laborers.
According to Henry, the farm’s owner agreed to extend their visa but failed to do so.
He said that after a week of cucumber harvesting, the farm owner offered them 23 Dirham (Ghc38) and ordered them to leave.
The young guy stated that he and his colleague were surviving off of bread and water since they had spent all of their money on them.
