Mrs Evelyn Ampaw (nee Banini), the widow of lawyer Maurice Ampaw, was laid to rest two months after she died.
Mrs Ampaw was laid to rest after a burial ceremony that began on Friday, April 23, 2021, and ended on Saturday, April 24, 2021.
On Friday night, the wife of a well-known lawyer was laid to rest at her family home in Laterbiokoshie, Accra.
Her mortal remains were then taken to the Max Duodu Presbyterian Church for a funeral service before being laid to rest at the Gbawe Cemetery.
Mrs Ampaw’s husband and children, a boy and girl who are twins, are seen in a video from her funeral looking sad as the activities for her final farewell take place.
Pallbearers were seen taking Mrs Ampaw’s casket into a hearse parked nearby in a video spotted by Buzzgh.com.
In another snap, the widower and his children can be seen dancing on the dance floor.
Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen, was also present to mourn with Lawyer Ampaw and his relatives, according to photos from the funeral.
Lawyer Ampaw’s wife died in February after a brief illness, according to reports.
Ampaw’s wife’s death came as a shock to him because he held her in such high regard and they seemed to be inseparable.
In 2020, Mr. and Mrs. Ampaw will mark their 16th wedding anniversary.
Ampaw revealed the difficult situations surrounding his marriage in an interview at the time.
Mrs Ampaw, who was born in 1972, was 48 years old at the time.
