Ford was born on May 28th, 1969 in Etobicoke, which is located in the province of Ontario in Canada. He is the fourth and final child to be born to Ruth Diane and Douglas Ford, and he is the youngest.

His father was an entrepreneur and a co-founder of Deco Labels and Tags, a company that manufactures pressure-sensitive labels for use on plastic-wrapped grocery items.
