Reports reaching us from Oti Region has it that, some residents of Likpe Nkwanta near Hohoe have assaulted two police officers who are currently at the hospital receiving treatments.
The details surrounding why the locals of the area did that has not yet been released but reports say the injuries suffered by the officers were very bad.
One has a severe machete wound whiles the other has a gunshot wound.
The the Hohoe Police Divisional Command received a distress call from Likpe Bala station indicating that two officers have been attacked by the residents.
They sent a rescue team to evacuate the two officers, but they themselves did not also take it easy as stones was pelted against them by the angry youth.
