The Government of Ghana has finally taken delivery of 600,000 doses of the Serum Institute of India AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine. A group headed by the Minister-designate for Health obtained the vaccinations at the airport.

Recently, the Presidential Health Advisor provided a strong hint that Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would be the first Ghanaian to acquire the COVID-19 vaccine jab.

Talking in an interview on Cape Coast-based Kastle FM monitored by buzzgh.com regarding the arrival of the Covid-19 vaccine in Ghana, MzVee said she is certainly happy to take the jab if she is asked to do so.

“She said to the host, “Yeah, I guess it’s easier to take the Covid-19 vaccine than to sit and not be armed and potentially have the virus and I don’t know what will happen.

“So I would certainly take the Covid-19 vaccine if we were requested to take it,” MzVee revealed.

“A senior lecturer at the University of Ghana, Prof. Gordon Akanzuwine Awandare, has proposed to the government to follow an “aggressive” campaign programme to wipe out myths regarding the Covid-19 vaccine.
