Precious Mensah, who is the current winner of the DI ASA competition for plus size women has disclosed that she nearly lost her life after she succumbed to societal pressure to lose weight.
She said she took some slimming pills that caused her a lot of complications.
“Unfortunately, anytime I take this drug, I feel pains in my heart. If I take it, I don’t feel okay but if I don’t take it, I feel okay… I took the drug and threw it into the bin,” PM said.
She said people should love her for whom she is now because there was no way she was going to take slimming pills again.
She added that her weight is not as a result of an unhealthy lifestyle.
“I accepted to start taking the drugs because my friends always left me behind when going to chill. And I was so eager to lose weight so that I could join them.”
she said all this in an interview with Ghanaweb.
