“I am happy with how my Government have handled corruption in Ghana”- Akuffo Addo tells CNN

In a virtual interview with CNN, Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo, said that he is pleased with the way his government has dealt with corruption in Ghana.

He said that much has been accomplished in the fight against corruption, which is reflected in Ghana’s rising place and rankings in the global corruption rankings.

He emphasizes that a great deal of effort has gone into combating corruption at the country’s most basic levels.

“For example, when I took office, the [anti-corruption] institutions in the country were severely underfunded. You can talk about corruption all you want, but if the tools you have to combat it are weak and blunt, you will not get anywhere,” he said.
