The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has denied that its officials played a key role in the suspension of Blessed Godsbrain Smart aka Captain Smart, the host of Angel FM’s morning show.
The President of Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) took the radio personality off the air about a week ago for reportedly criticizing top state officials.
Captain Smart responded to his suspension by revealing that his boss, Dr. Kwaku Oteng, believed that some top GRA officials and high-ranking government officials were pressuring him to take action against him because he “talks too much.”
However, stories circulating on social media alleging that the GRA harassed Dr Kwaku Oteng are “unfounded and baseless,” according to the GRA.
The Revenue collection body issued a statement saying, “The Authority wishes to emphatically state that the accusations of abuse by GRA are baseless and fraudulent.”
“As a result, GRA management wishes to respond to the allegations as follows: The GRA’s mission is to recognize and ensure that all people who earn money file tax returns and pay the proper taxes to the government.
