Johanita Dogbey, the founder of the Odette Foundation, was stabbed to death on May 8th in Brixton, South London. She was on the phone with her grandmother when a stranger approached her from behind with a knife. The event occurred only a few hundred yards from Brixton Police Station.
Johanita, a Ghanaian woman of 31, started the Odette Foundation. The foundation assisted sickle cell patients in Ghana and Togo.
Johanita’s death has crushed her family. They issued a statement saying she was a lovely and caring person who did not deserve to die. They are devastated and can’t envision their lives without her.
In connection with Johanita’s murder, a 33-year-old male has been arrested. He remains in police detention while the inquiry is ongoing.
