Buzzgh has come across a video of how a Nigerian footballer died during a league match last Saturday.
Chineme Martins is a defender who met his untimely death after he collided with an opposing player during a match with Katsina United.
His teammate and coach rushed to him to make sure he was safe, but due to the lack of medical personals on the pitch, the right procedure was not done to revive him.
Sources also claim the car they put him in to take him to the hospital failed to start and when he was finally taken to the hospital he was pronounced dead.
Reacting to the sad occurrence, Chairman of the League Management Committee (LMC), Shehu Dikko, said the league is terriblly saddened by the untimely demise of the promising young player.
He said;
“We commiserate with Nasarawa United and the immediate family of the late player.”
He also included that an autopsy would be conducted to ascertain the actual cause of the player’s death.
“It is hoped that the findings of the autopsy would inform subsequent measures, if any that has not been addressed by the existing standard procedure.” Mr Dikko added.
