A sound engineer named Body Beatz, who is based in Takoradi, has claimed that the Ghanaian music sensation Fameye has scammed the Ghanaian and Ivorian music group Climbie Afrika out of money.
According to Body Beatz, who also happens to be the producer of Fameye’s “Long Life” featuring Kwesi Arthur, Climbie Afrika contacted Fameye for a feature on a song through him.
The band agreed to pay the multi-award winning musician’s fee of 3,500 Ghana cedis.
Moving forward in time to May of 2021, Climbie Afrika reached out to Fameye once more through Body Beatz in order to shoot the music video for the song.
It is said that Fameye demanded GH5,000, a sum that was negotiated down to finally reach at GH4,500, and ultimately, payment for the agreed upon amount was carried out by the musical group.
Despite this, Fameye has not yet shown up for the video shoot despite it having been almost a year and a half.
In a conversation that took place on Connect FM in Takoradi with Ato Kwamina Otoo D’Gem, Body Beatz claimed that, despite having agreed to be there for the shoot on multiple occasions, Fameye had failed to show up for the scheduled appointments on multiple occasions.
He went on to say that in October 2021, he had to do everything in his power to thwart Climbie Afrika’s attempts to have Fameye arrested in Takoradi when he got there to perform at the Guinness Bright House Experience concert.
The angered music producer went on to say that the group had lost interest in filming the music video for the song and that the only thing they would appreciate at this point is if Fameye would return the money that he had taken from them.
