Doug Ford Family: Wife and Kids

Robert Bruce Ford is a famous Canadian politician and entrepreneur who served as Toronto’s 64th mayor from 2010 until 2014.

Ford was a city councilor representing Ward 2 Etobicoke North both before and during his stint as mayor.

He was initially elected to Toronto City Council in the 2000 municipal election, and he was re-elected twice.

Throughout his political career, particularly during his mayoralty, he was involved in a variety of personal and work-related disputes and legal processes.

He became entangled in a substance misuse crisis in 2013, which was widely reported in national and international media.

Ford refused to resign after his admission, but the city council voted to delegate certain mayoral powers and office staff to Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly for the remainder of Ford’s term.

Ford took a leave to seek treatment for his alcohol and drug problems.

Despite the scandal, Ford initially ran for mayor in the October 2014 election, but after being hospitalized and diagnosed with an abdominal tumor in September 2014, Ford withdrew from the mayoral race and registered to compete for his old city council seat instead.

On December 1, 2014, John Tory took over as mayor, and Ford reclaimed his former seat. Ford received cancer treatment and briefly returned to the council, but died in March 2016 after chemotherapy proved futile.
