David Adedeji Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born on November 21, 1992. He combines conventional African elements with international pop.

Davido Career

In his late teens, while attending Oakwood University, he developed a passion for music and began creating his own beats and learning about music production.

After quitting school, he moved to Lagos, Nigeria, to focus solely on music, releasing his first single, “Back When,” in 2011. The second single, “Dami Duro,” came out shortly after the first and garnered some notice for its combination of club-like production, upbeat vocals, and Afro-pop rhythms.

His debut album, Omo Baba Olowo, which was published in 2012 and yielded numerous singles, got under way.

Davido was raised in an extremely rich family. While his late mother, Mrs. Veronica Adeleke, was a university lecturer before she passed away, his father, Adedeji Adeleke, is a rich businessman.

Beginning his education at the well-known British International School in Lagos, Davido later transferred to Oakwood University to pursue a degree in business administration but was forced to return to Nigeria.

After arriving in Nigeria, Davido chose to pursue his education at Babcock University in Ogun State. Davido was a part of the musical group the KB International while he lived in the US.

He developed his musical skills when he was a member of this group before deciding to return to Nigeria.
