Reno Omokri, a famous Nigerian author, has stated that the practice of a church wedding does not adhere to Christian beliefs, and thus a church wedding is not a Christian wedding.
According to the author, the concept is focused on getting the approval of the priest, which is a disservice to the family, who are expected to officiate weddings, not pastors.
Reno Omokri went on to say that he disagreed with those who argue that church weddings are necessary.
“Church wedding is not Christian wedding. Some people say it is necessary because pastors are God’s representatives on Earth. My question is this: What are your parents? Devil’s representative? No blessing on Earth is greater than parental blessings,”
