CCTV footage of the James Town armed robbery attack at Adedenkpo, which resulted in the deaths of two people, one police officer and a lady, has surfaced online.
On Monday, June 14, photographs posted on social media indicated how the robbers carried out their attack.
The gang of six, on three motorcycles each with a pillion rider, began following the white Bullion Van from Abossey Okai towards Korle Bu Mortuary road.
The criminals pretended to be Okada riders going about their business at the Laterbiokoshie traffic light, which is near the old Nkrumah flats and Bishop Bowers.
To avoid drawing suspicion from spectators, the bandits concealed their firearms behind some commercial and private vehicles.
The bandits were then seen taking another shot at the Korle Bu Junction traffic light, this time branching in the direction of the van heading into Jamestown.
The bullion truck took an unorthodox path through Adedenkpo, which the robbers took advantage of, and one of the motorbikes rapidly went past the gold vehicle to stop at the crossroads, while the other two motorcyclists got closer to begin their operation.
The van, which was carrying an unknown amount of cash, was followed by some individuals in a cab and a ‘Okada,’ and when the van arrived at a less populated location, the thieves assaulted it by firing indiscriminately at it, instantly killing the police officer on board.
One of the robbers shot and killed Afua Badu, a woman who attempted to raise an alarm about the robbery attack.
As they drove towards the Korle Bu road, the bandits fled the scene, shooting indiscriminately into the sky.
